ISO hat-trick elevates Comms-care into Elite group

ISO hat-trick elevates Comms-care into Elite groupComms-care is delighted to announce the successful addition of ISO/IEC 27001 : 2005 to their existing ISO 20000-1 : 2005 IT Service Management and ISO 9001 : 2008 Quality Management certifications. What separates this achievement for Comms-care from many other ISO certified IT companies is the broad depth of scope Comms-care’s ISO certification comes with.

Not only has Comms-care successfully secured their ISO 27001 certification but they have done so by adhering to all the controls within this particular ISO standard and ensuring these controls are implemented and managed across their entire business, lifecycle of services and where required into their customer environments.

Ewan Conlon, Head of Service Delivery at Comms-care explains: “12 months ago we set ourselves very ambitious targets to achieve both ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 certification to complement our existing ISO 9001 status.  As a leading channel IT support provider we are continually updating and streamlining our policies and procedures in line with our partners needs to ensure we remain at the forefront of channel support.  Without well-defined policies and procedures for managing the security and integrity of your essential business information, both your business and your customers are wide open to unacceptable risks.”

This highly acclaimed Information Security Management certification is of particular importance to companies who provide a service on behalf of others, such as IT support companies like Comms-care as it can be used to assure customers that the quality, service management and information security management procedures are to the highest standard, with ISO certified organisations subject to periodic reviews ensuring they are compliant with very vigorous and precise standards.

Conlon then goes onto say “Gaining ISO 27001 to the extent we have is a real differentiator for Comms-care as it puts us in a very select and niche group of IT service companies who can demonstrate this level of scope across their entire business.  The certification also provides our channel partners with a competitive advantage over their competitors as it gives them access to processes and policies that are officially recognised as having excellence in quality, service management and information security standards providing an influential unique selling point in the bid process.”

Tony Smith, LRQA assessor: “LRQA works in partnership with its clients to help them effect real change in their business. We are delighted that Comms-care has achieved certification to the information security standard, ISO 27001.  Having a robust information security management system gives their stakeholders the confidence that they have addressed all relevant security risks including IT, people, physical and business continuity”.
