Comms-care partners experience 2010 Ryder Cup course
Comms-care recently invited a selection of their channel partners to the Comms-care Partner Golf Day at the impressive Celtic Manor Resort. Playing golf on the prestigious 2010 Ryder Cup course, twenty four partners headed out onto the course to test their skills against one of the most demanding courses on the professional circuit.
Partners were greeted on arrival by the 2010 clubhouse manager, clubs unloaded and their car valet parked. To add an extra special touch to the day, partners were invited to use the same locker rooms as Woods, Mickleson and Casey will be using come next summer. They were then shown through to the impressive Samuel Ryder suite for registration, bacon rolls and coffee. The suite overlooks the 18th green giving the perfect vantage point to watch all the players complete their rounds.
With prompt tee off times, the first team started at 10:00am with ten minute intervals. A hugely challenging course, most partners were pleased to hear that there was a break after 10 holes at the halfway house for a welcomed drink, snack and reflection of the course so far.
As well as a stableford scoring system Comms-care held two competitions around the course – longest drive on the 18th and nearest the pin on the 10th. The 18th hole was particularly challenging for players, 575 yards hitting into a strong wind, water surrounding the green and the added pressure of everyone watching from the 2010 clubhouse balcony.
The day was sealed with a delicious Welsh three course meal in the Samuel Ryder suite followed by presentations for the winning team, second placed team, longest drive and nearest the pin. The winning team managed to accumulate 78 points with each member receiving a trophy and some Ryder Cup merchandise as a memento of the day.
The day was enjoyed by all who attended and played. Partners were pleased to have had the opportunity to play the 2010 Ryder Cup course and can now look back on the day whilst watching the professionals battle it out for the Ryder Cup on the 2010 course next year.
Richard Eglon, Marketing Manager at Comms-care commented on the day: “Perfect location, superb course and top class facilities. The feedback from our partners was that they were extremely impressed with the whole 2010 setup from the course to the clubhouse facilities. To have the Comms-care brand associated with such a prestigious venue is very important to us and it will definitely be on our shortlist for future golf days.”
