Tweet, tweet!by Comms-care Colin

I think it’s safe to say that winter is officially here after this week’s weather change!
This week I’ve spent most of my time in the chilly North at HQ, welcoming our latest engineers to the team! Our two latest recruits have been through the induction at our Knowledge Centre and have already been out on the road with me visiting customer sites. They’ve been dealing with some high level replacement switches and router installs whilst gaining knowledge of the high customer service levels expected of our onsite engineers. Next week they will be on their own out in the field with our other engineers, I have a feeling they will fit right in at Comms-care!
It’s fantastic to see all teams across Comms-care growing on a weekly basis at a time when jobs are scarce. This is in response to the fantastic growth and success of our company which is down to our team of very talented and committed colleagues, and the support of our special customers.
As you may have seen on my twitter this week, we are holding a tweet-a-thon across 6th, 7th and 8th of December! The tweet-a-thon is part of the Railway Children’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, where all donations made across the 3 days will be doubled and all go towards helping the street children of Tanzania. To get everyone involved in this fantastic cause and to get you all in the Christmas spirit, (yes, I said the C word!) we are offering one lucky donator the chance to win a personalised Christmas Carol video, sung by the Comms-care team! All you have to do is donate at any time across the three days and tweet to your followers our pre-written tweet, that’s it! For full instructions, terms & conditions and the pre-written tweet, visit our tweet-a-thon webpage.
Today sadly marks the end of Movember, one of my favourite months! It’s amazing seeing all of the men joining together, across the world to grow a moustache for charity. We have had two guys at Comms-care raising money and growing a ‘tache throughout November; Ben Horne our Graphic Designer and Anthony Evans one of our Field Engineers. Together they have raised a hairy £192!! I’m currently trying to convince them to keep their ‘taches a little longer, I think they’ll need the extra warm in the coming months judging by today’s weather! I did try to join in with Movember, unfortunately I’m not manly enough to grow a successful moustache, but there’s always next year!
If you entered out BYOD survey, keep your eye out next week as we pick and announce our winner of the Kindle Fire HD. As promised we will also be sharing the results of the survey with the participants so keep checking your inbox for our email.
As the icy fog is setting in at HQ, I’m off to buy some thermals to get me through next week!
