Time for Festivities

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Comms-care!

Everyone has been getting in to the festive spirit at HQ this week, with the Christmas tree being put up and the employees designing me a Christmas jumper ready for the party season! My very kind colleagues here at HQ have been busy creating the perfect Christmas jumper design that will see me through the holiday season, we even had some designs from a very creative 6 year old and 2 year old! The designs were all fantastic but unfortunately, I could only pick one of them to be Christmas jumper. Check out the winning design here. You can also head over to my twitter page to see all of the designs, modelled by myself of course!

I’ve been out in the field quite a bit this week, travelling around saving the day, as do all of our field engineers! I started the week off in Wokingham, responding to an end-user customer’s call to our Service Desk about a warning light. After arriving on site it was confirmed that a new CPU was required to get the end-user customer back online, I collected the new CPU from our nearest spares depot and arrived back on site for the scheduled downtime in order to swap out the CPU. The end-user customer was up and running before Afternoon Tea! After Wokingham, I headed over to Bristol where an end-user customer required a replacement PSU for a Cisco Catalyst 6500, the replacement PSU was delivered to the site by the time I reached the end-user, so all I had to do was swap the faulty PSU for the replacement and resume the end-user customer’s service. Job done!

On route to HQ the next day, I attended a cry for help from an end-user customer in Rutland, whose HP Prolient ML350 backup server had failed and needed a new PSU. I met the new PSU on site, swapped it out, and closed the call. Just as I was on the M6 nearing HQ, our Service Desk received a call from and end-user customer, based in Warrington, for a failed HDD in a server. The HDD was already on its way to the end-user customer, so I took a quick de-tour to site to replace the HDD. I had the end-user customer up and running by close of play. Happy customers all round!

Usually, things get a bit quieter in the office over December, so far this hasn’t happened! We’ve had an increased interest in our Flexpod Data Centre Solutions as of late, with a lot of our partners enquiring on how we can assist them. With a support that encompasses 3 of the leading Vendor’s technologies and provides wrap-around services for Tier 1 business applications, our Flexpod service provides partners with many benefits. To find out more, you can contact us today via our website or download our Flexpod Solutions pdf.

Our tweet-a-thon is well underway today, raising money for the Railway Children’s Big Give Challenge! If you haven’t already taken part, you can still donate up until 7pm Saturday 8th December and still be in with the chance of winning a personalised Christmas carol video sung by the lovely employees here at Comms-care. Head over to our twitter to join in or visit our tweet-a-thon page for more info.

I’m off to practice my carol singing, ready for the video! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
