The importance of ‘Everyday Leadership’ – Comms-care recognises World Quality Day 2017
In November Comms-care supported World Quality Day 2017, a worldwide initiative to increase awareness of the important contribution that quality makes towards both organisations and national growth. This year’s theme was ‘Everyday Leadership’; the latest version of the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015, which Comms-care adopted in March 2017, introduced a crucial element on leadership and therefore the theme was an apt choice of topic for World Quality Day this year.
The Compliance Team at Comms-care encouraged employees from all departments to get involved with World Quality Day by putting on a range of activities, which promoted thought on qualitative leadership behaviours.
Carol Sparkes, Compliance Manager, said, “The theme of leadership is at the heart of our Quality Management System, especially now with our adoption of ISO 9001:2015 earlier this year. World Quality Day’s theme of ‘Everyday Leadership’ allowed the Compliance Team to communicate this important subject across the business, demonstrating how leadership behaviours must maximise influence and develop a culture of evaluation and improvement at Comms-care. This year we saw some fantastic contributions on this important topic so I must say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved to make this day a huge success.”
Comms-care employees voted ‘empowers others’, ‘motivates’ and ‘communicative’ as top leadership behaviours, which aligns with the competency framework set out in ISO 9001:2015. This confirms that quality is embedded in routine business procedures, with senior management actively engaging in the key quality management system operations.
The company will continue to recognise World Quality Day each year as Comms-care places high value on its various quality management systems, striving to meet the highest levels of compliance and providing an outstanding service to its customers.
