What I learned at the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit!by Rob Darby
May 18, 2017
It took 12 hours to fly from Manchester to Phoenix, Arizona for the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit but it was worth it! I was really looking forward to this event, not only because of the insight that would be shared and the talent present, but also because it was coming up to the one year anniversary of our acquisition by Ingram Micro.
As expected, I was hit with terrible jetlag on my first day there which meant waking up feeling energetic at 3am. Luckily I was able to take advantage of this with a sunrise run which was absolutely breath-taking. Over breakfast I started to meet various UK partners also attending the event and spent time discussing their various business challenges.
The Ingram Micro Summit aimed to help people understand what’s new in cloud computing, as well as what the future will bring. The summit taught attendees how to harness the power of transformational leadership whilst looking at platform disruption, digital marketing and the internet of things amongst many other topics.
As well as the inspiring speakers who turned up, including Marc Randolph, Co-Founder and Former CEO of Netflix, and Rowan Trollope of Cisco, I also heard from Nimesh Davé and Renée Bergeron of Ingram Micro. In addition to the insightful talks, there was ample opportunity for networking and participating in discussions and workshops.
I gained many interesting perspectives on the future of cloud computing and would recommend the event to anyone in the cloud world to attend next year. Ingram Micro ran a poll at the event and found that a staggering 97% of people would recommend the event to others. The stats speak for themselves. Don’t miss out in 2018!
