Office 365 | Changing from an emerging to a maturing productby Paul Stephens
December 09, 2014
Comms-care attended the Office 365 Summit earlier this month and was struck by the continued and unwavering importance that Microsoft is giving to its cloud strategy. In particular, it is clear that it now considers Office 365 to be moving from an emerging to a maturing technology. It means that Microsoft is now using Office 365 as a building block to which it can begin adding a host of new productivity solutions including Yammer, Office Delve, Graph and Sway.
However, there is one stand-out emerging solution that will be in huge demand from our clients in terms of both licensing and professional services and that is the Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) – which is now part of the Enterprise Cloud Suite (ECS).
EMS builds upon the base Office 365 platform and allows companies to start their journey of providing “people-centric IT” where users get what they want, when they want, how they want but importantly allows IT to retain effective management, security and compliance capabilities.
Microsoft’s vision with Cloud technologies such as Office 365 has always been that it enables IT departments to focus less on “maintaining service” and more on “enhancing service” for their users. EMS is a clear example of how this vision is now starting to come to fruition and we are very excited to be able to be involved with the delivery of this vision to our channel partners’ customers.
As a ‘Managed’ Microsoft Partner we are currently working closely with our account management team at Microsoft to create a roadmap for how we will be able to support our channel partners as they begin selling and delivering EMS. Over the next couple of months we will be launching a number of new initiatives to our partners that will help them market, sell and deliver these emerging technologies to their customers. Keep an eye out for these new initiatives and hopefully we can all be looking forward to a very exciting (and busy) New Year.
