New Startersby Comms-care Colin
October 19, 2012
Here we are again; another busy week at Comms-care has been and gone!
First off, I welcomed our 3 new gems to the engineering department this week, who we found during our 2 days of interviewing. The first part of their week was spent introducing them to their team and showing them round our fantastic HQ. They then spent the rest of their week at Comms-care in our Knowledge Centre receiving induction and Cisco training from our senior engineers, preparing them to go out in the field next week. We still require more talented engineers to support our channel partners’ ever growing needs so the search for the next Comms-care support star continues…
Our Service Desk has had a very busy week this week, it’s been all hands on deck answering queries and logging fault calls. As our channel partner base grows, so does the need for support staff within Comms-care to ensure the smooth running of our partners’ end-user businesses. We have started the search for additional Service Delivery personnel this week to assist on the reports produced for customers during the services lifecycle. Interviews will be getting underway over the next few weeks and I look forward to welcoming more members to the Comms-care family.
This week, I’ve spent a lot of time with Marketing, working on our 10 Year Birthday campaign ready for our big birthday month in November. It’s going to be a fantastic celebration of Comms-care, our channel partners, and the changing technologies over the past 10 years, so make sure you keep an eye on my blog and twitter account to celebrate with us!
After our successful win at the CN Awards last week, I’ve sent my tux off to the dry cleaners in preparation for our last two award ceremonies of the year, the CRN Awards and the UK IT Industry Awards. Comms-care are sponsoring the VIP and Casino area at the CRN Awards on November 15th, and I intend to be meeting as many of you as possible on the night, so don’t be shy and make sure you say “Hi” in the casino area. There’s a rumour that there may be some freebies and a fantastic competition happening on the night, so don’t miss out!
A hot topic in the office this week has been on the Gartner research regarding the “useful life” of IT kit and whether the refresh cycles are a pushy selling tool by VARs or an over cautious measure used by the end-user. See what our Technical Director, Darren Briscoe, had to say on the topic in this week’s CRN magazine.
Now it’s time for me to tie up a few loose ends in the office ready for the weekend, before another busy week at Comms-care starts again.
